Sure, there are not as many directly competitive people out there and oh yes, there are ass hats too but there are just as many everywhere else and it seems you forget this. There's this fallacy where people think that the PvP playerbase is a majority of the playerbase. NW and PVP in Fallout in general is nothing more than a novelty. It's really telling when half of the people that end up in the final circle most of the time are bush wookies who are psuedo afk'ing for XP. Only reason it sticks around is for the miniscule amount of people that enjoy punching down to the lowest possible skill ceiling in something that was haphazardly duct taped together in a crude amalgamation of something resembling a competitive video game. They just need to let the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game mode die. May god have mercy on us in the double exp event coming up. Instead of going around and down the slope (They didn't have power armor.) they immediately found me with no tells of where I was and the moment that head popped over the ledge, I fired three rounds into their skull and the uproar of my team saying "You killed the cheater!" was just amazing. Granted, I wasn't moving a single inch, but the person was already pointing down at where I would be. I watched as they literally walked out of fire+a nuke zone and began sneaking. Load up on all the best weapons in Fallout 76 with these. Whilst I waited at the top of the mountain (It has no drop point, just a small ledge to stand on before the fall into flatwoods.) and wait for them to come from 150 (Point on the map.) Fallout 76 is more like an MMO RPG, just not quite as massive in terms of players in a single map. So we figured up a plan! My team would create a fortification in the final circle and wait inside of it. We watched the kill feed (Top left.) as the person killed not one, but 5+ people in a matter of 0.5 seconds with a handmade. I wish, I so wish the cheater I got earlier was streaming, because I know I scared the bejimickers out of them. We of course reported them, but you know, I think the driving purpose is when you ACTUALLY kill one. We called it out, said cheater there, died and went into another one.
I was witness to wall hacking tonight, the aerial bombing/punching people, teleporting, flying among many other things, but I could only laugh at it. If you play, play to have at least a little bit of fun. Don't get mad, don't even treat it seriously. Even if you're a fan of both of these ways to play, there's a lot you will need to learn if you want to make it through this harrowing mode. Go into it knowing that you are likely going to lose from a shot that came from literally no where. The new mode called Nuclear Winter has most of the trappings you would expect from a battle royale, but incorporates a surprising amount from what makes Fallout 76 unique.
Don't go into this mode with the intention of becoming a serious contender. Shit game, good song.I tell ya, this mode is fun, but good lord the amount of cheaters xD.
